He was about to quit. Then he moved up a tee.
Meet Kenny — 95 years young, and playing better than ever at Butter Valley.
We want to introduce you to someone.
Kenny Moatz has been part of the Butter Valley family for over 50 years. He’s an icon here — someone who has seen this course go through every season, every change, every generation of golfers. Golf isn’t just a hobby for Kenny. It’s a way of life.
A few years ago, that nearly came to an end.
Kenny was playing from the Senior Tees and watching his scores creep past 100. The game that had given him so much joy started feeling like a grind. He was frustrated — and seriously thinking about walking away for good.
Then he tried the Yellow Tees.
Kenny is 95 years old. Moving up to the Yellow Tees — Butter Valley’s new forward tees, positioned for golfers who carry 180 yards or less — changed everything. His scores dropped back under 90. He’s making pars again. He’s competing with younger golfers on the course. And maybe his favorite part? He’s back to going head-to-head with his grandsons.
“I love how it lets me compete again,” Kenny told us. “I thought enjoyable golf was behind me. Now I look forward to every round.”
We built the Yellow Tees for Kenny — and for every golfer who’s ever felt like the game stopped working for them. If you carry 180 yards or less off the tee, these tees are for you.
Come find out what Kenny discovered for his own game.
